Fat Transfer: Dallas’ Option for ‘Natural’ Body Sculpting of the Breast, Face, Buttocks and Hands

The SKINTASTIC surgical team is thrilled to announce that we now offer a variety of natural fat transfer enhancements to the face, breast, buttocks and the hands. By transferring fat from the abdomen, thighs or waist – we can reduce your waistline while increasing your bustline!

Revolutionary advancements in fat transfer technologies such as P.R.P. (Platelet-Rich Plasma) Enrichment have made the fat transfer process safer, gentler and much more effective than ever before. Immediate results with ongoing improvements over several months.

SKINTASTIC now offers minimally-invasive enhancements which utilize your own natural fat–harvested and redistributed to the body areas where you could use a little extra. The results are natural looking and long lasting.

Dr. Adelglass, with the help of his surgical team, can remove unwanted fat from problem areas and then transplant that same fat into the spots where you would rather have it–increase your bust size one or two cup sizes, fill in hollowed facial contours, round out a shapelier derriere or even more youthful-looking hands. Every one of these fat transfer options can utilize a patient’s very own natural filler–their own fat! Fat transfer technologies are safer and more effective than ever before.

Fat Transfer to the Face

Natural Fat Implants for the Face

Harvesting one’s unwanted fat from one area of the body and transplanting it into another desired area is known as Natural Fat Transfer or Natural Fat Grafting. There are several methods of lipolysis fat harvesting and natural fat implantation, but the primary medical technology utilized by SKINTASTIC for natural fat harvesting is water jet lipolysis, which removes your fat gently–the fat that is harvested is then ideal for fat transfer to other body areas.

The Superior Choice for Long-Lasting Filler Results: Your Own Fat

Since cosmetic dermal fillers were introduced, cosmetic surgeon Jeffrey Adelglass, M.D. has been performing a variety of filler injections beneath the eyes, into the nasolabial folds on either side of the mouth, and to plump up the lips and fill the fine lines around the lips; Dr. Adelglass also trains other doctors and surgeons with his injection techniques. While SKINTASTIC offers a number of great dermal fillers that can produce long-lasting, natural-looking results, the optimal choice of fillers is one’s very own fat, which is less likely to cause complications (the body recognizes it as its own), and your own fat can potentially last for years, or even permanently.

What Kind of Results Can I Expect from my Fat Transfer to the Face procedure?

Early medical attempts at autologous fat transplantation often created results that were less-than-ideal, as the fat cells were often damaged using the older liposuction vacuuming techniques and did not always ‘stay alive’ when reintroduced into the body. To be fair, surgeons did not have the amazing fat transfer technologies just recently introduced, nor did they fully understand the role of stem cells in the body. Dr. Adeglass and the SKINTASTIC surgical team utilizes Water Jet Liposuction to gently harvest the fat from the donor body sites. The fat is then processed and purified, condensed and fortified with P.R.P. (Platelet-Rich Plasma), also harvested from the patient. This process enriches the fat to make it an ideal grafting substance. Chances are very low that you will have any adverse reaction or your body will reject your own fat–the chances are much more likely that you will LOVE your results–for years to come!

What Facial Areas are Usually Treated with Fat Implants?

Common areas of the face where natural filler can be used include the nasolabial folds (the deep folds on either side of the nose and mouth), severe under-eye troughs (often a sign of aging), the cheeks and cheek hollows, the lips and shallow lines around the lips. Natural fat can also be used to augment irregularities in the face, such as icepick acne scarring or to fill a dent running across the bridge of the nose.

Natural fat transfer is ideal for both women and men, and creates a softer, more youthful and energetic appearance.

Fat Transfer to the Breast

Natural Breast Augmentation with Fat Transfer

Cosmetic Surgeon Jeffrey Adelglass, M.D., F.A.C.S. and the SKINTASTIC surgical team now offer breast enhancement utilizing a patient’s own harvested fat. The fat from the harvested areas is removed in a manner which screens, purifies and fortifies the harvested cells, greatly improving the chances of successful transplantation and favorable, long-lasting results.

The History of Fat Transfer

Early attempts at fat transfer were only moderately successful, as the harvested fat often did not ‘stay alive’ through the entire transplantation process. A new medical technology has been developed which purifies and fortifies the fat with the body’s own stem cells (also harvested from your fat). This fat purification and fortification process greatly increases the likelihood that the fat will ‘take’ in the transplanted locations.

How Much Enhancement Can be Done with Natural Fat Transfer?

One cup size at most is suggested, but the actual amount of breast enlargement will be at the doctor’s discretion (you will consult with the doctor prior to any treatments). The amount of fat available which can be injected will depend upon how much fat is harvested. Fat transfer is also especially beneficial to increase the size of one breast which is slightly smaller than the other, or to improve dimpling or other structural irregularities. If you have excess fat available after your breast enhancement procedure, there may be other body areas that can also utilize this natural fat.

How is the Fat Transplanted into the Breasts?

Once the harvested fat undergoes a special fortifying, purifying and condensing process, it is immediately introduced into the breasts through micro injections. This process is less invasive than if you were to receive saline breast implants, and the purified harvested fat (from your own body) is much less likely to be rejected than a foreign material. How much fat can be injected into the breasts will depend upon how much fat is harvested from the donor sites and will be at the surgeon’s discretion.

Your Natural Breast Enhancement Evaluation

SKINTASTIC offers a complimentary initial evaluation for you to meet with one of our experienced patient care coordinators at our Plano / North Dallas surgical facility; the evaluation takes about an hour. You and your SKINTASTIC patient care coordinator will talk about your wants and expectations, and they will gather some basic information for Dr. Adelglass. You will also meet with a member of our surgical staff, who can answer specific questions about the various procedures involved. You will leave with a preliminary cost estimate for your likely lipolysis and fat transfer procedures. Your medical information and staff notes will then be given to Dr. Adelglass for his assessment of whether you may be a candidate for fat transfer enhancement procedures. Once it is determined that you are probably a good candidate, you will need to come in for a surgical consultation with the surgeon himself. In your meeting with Dr. Adelglass, he will review your medical history and bring up any concerns. He will also perform a physical examination of the areas to be treated. For female patients, a female assistant will be present in the room with you during this examination. After the examination is complete, Dr. Adelglass will create a specific surgical plan, and once you have determined you are comfortable and wish to proceed, you will then meet with our office manager to discuss financing options. Care Credit, a medical procedure financing company, is currently offering SKINTASTIC patients 6 months of no interest financing for surgical procedures (with qualified credit). Information about Care Credit financing can also be found on their website: www.carecredit.com.

Fat Transfer to the Buttock

The Natural Buttocks ‘Butt-Lift’ that Uses Your Own Fat

Perhaps you have heard of the ‘Brazilian Butt Lift’ procedure–Dr. Adelglass and the SKINTASTIC surgical team are now offering fat transfer enhancement to the buttocks area. The SKINTASTIC natural fat transfer procedure gives a very ‘natural’ looking result, which doesn’t utilize foreign implant material, but instead uses your very own body fat, harvested from other body areas, fortified, and then transplanted by micro injections into the areas where you could use a little extra volume.

How is the Natural Fat Buttocks Enhancement Procedure Performed?

Tumescent IV sedation is generally considered to be one of the safest, and most comfortable sedation methods, and is one that SKINTASTIC uses for many of our surgical procedures. Most patients experience no discomfort nor remember anything about the actual procedure itself. After sedation, the first part of the procedure involves a liposuction process that creates sculpted contours around the buttocks, harvesting the excess fat from the hips, waistline, back, abdomen and thighs which will be used in the transplantation (also called fat grafting) process. The fat from these ‘donor’ areas is filtered, condensed, purified and fortified in a process that helps it to ‘take’ well in the transplanted areas. The liposuction and fat preparation methods used preserve the integrity of the fat cells, creating a very favorable grafting material (from your own fat). This freshly-created mixture is then immediately injected into the desired areas using tiny injections. Injecting your own purified fat back into the body through microinjections offers a much lower risk of infection or tissue rejection than introducing a foreign inplant material into the body, as is generally the case with the Brazilian ‘Butt Lift’ procedure. The amount of fat that can be re-injected (after condensing, purifying and fortifying) will depend upon the amount of fat that can be removed in the initial lipolysis procedure.

The recovery time for fat transfer varies from patient to patient, depending upon the body areas involved and complexity of the fat harvesting procedures used. Most SKINTASTIC patients are up and around within a day or two and back to their routines. Some swelling, bruising, post-surgical discomfort is normal and expected.

The First Step

First, we will schedule a complimentary, no-charge evaluation for you with one of our patient care coordinators (which takes about an hour) at our Plano / North Dallas surgical center. Our professional patient care coordinator will discuss your wishes and will gather preliminary information for Dr. Adelglass, SKINTASTIC’s Medical Director and Director of Surgery. You will also speak to a member of our surgical staff that day, who will be able to answer additional questions you may have about the procedure. You will also be given a preliminary estimate of what your fat transfer procedure will cost, based on the likely areas to be treated and other factors. Our surgical staff will then present your medical information and evaluation notes to Dr. Adelglass and he will assess whether you initially appear to be a good candidate for the procedure. If you are a likely candidate for fat transfer, the next step will be a surgical consultation with Dr. Adelglass himself. When you meet with the doctor, he will go over any medical concerns and will perform a physical examination of the areas to be treated. At that point you and Dr. Adelglass will come up with a specific surgical plan, and you will be referred to our business office to discuss various financing/payment options.
