VASER

Vaser LipoSelection^® gets its name because of the way it utilizes ultrasound energy to break up and emulsify areas of unwanted body fat, while leaving surrounding connective tissue, nerves, and blood vessels relatively unharmed.

Because blood vessels and nerves are largely undisturbed, there is a minimal amount of bruising and recovery pain after the procedure. Tender areas like the chin, neck, arms and inner thighs can be handled much more delicately with Vaser than with traditional liposuction.

How is the Vaser Liposelection^® Treatment Performed?

First, the LipoSelection^® patient is sedated using IV (intravenous) sedation, and a tumescent saline solution is injected to "loosen up" fatty tissue in the areas that will be treated. The tumescent solution also contains an anesthetic numbing agent to make the treatment more comfortable. Next, Dr. Adelglass makes a small access incision in the treatment area and inserts a thin ultrasonic probe. The sonic energy delivered to areas of fat emulsifies it, breaking the destroyed fat down into a liquid form that can be drained or suctioned away.

At SKINTASTIC™, Vaser is sometimes suggested in conjunction with SmartLipo™ laser body sculpting, particularly in the case of larger surgical patients, to improve their overall treatment results.
