What is SmoothShapes™?

SmoothShapes™ utilizes a novel medical approach to the reduction of cellulite-  Photomology™, which combines specific laser and light wavelengths with suction and deep lymphatic massage to address the physical manifestations of cellulite: brittle fibrous septae and engorged fat cells. Collagen is remodeled so that skin is smoother and tighter, and fat cells are restored to a more normal size.

What Causes Cellulite?

Hormones--not exercise or diet--primarily regulate the fat storage and metabolism in the subcutaneous fat layer. Women are more likely to develop cellulite because their subcutaneous fat layer is separated by thin vertical columns, in contrast to the crisscross network in men. These columns contain engorged fat cells, allowing herniation to be more visible on the skin’s surface. Hormonal factors, vascular changes and inflammation all play their part in creating the tell-tale ‘cottage-cheese’ dimpled appearance of cellulite. There currently is no known permanent cure for cellulite.

Is the Treatment Uncomfortable?

SmoothShapes™ treatments are generally painless, feeling more like a warm, pampering massage than a medical treatment. SKINTASTIC™ recommends a minimum of 8 treatments, 2 times per week.
