The Restylane® family of products includes Restylane®, Restylane-L®, Restylane® Lyft with Lidocaine, Restylane® Silk, Restylane® Refyne, and Restylane® Defyne. Restylane® and Restylane-L® are for mid-to-deep injection into the facial tissue for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds, marionette lines as well as adding volume to cheeks and lips.

One of the most significant factors of these breakthrough fillers is that they contain hyaluronic acid, found naturally in the tissues of your body. The crystal-clear gel is injected into the skin where it binds with the body’s water molecules, to plump up wrinkles and fill them in. It works so safely and effectively; allergies to hyaluronic acid are extremely rare.

Restylane® Dermal Filler results are dramatic and long-lasting:  a soft tissue filler that treat moderate to mild creases around the mouth, but is also used more creatively for smoothing under-eye hollows, plumping and defining the shape of the lips, enhancing volume to the cheeks, and defining the chin and jawline.

Restylane Refyne

Restylane® Refyne is a smooth gel that provides good improvement of mild to moderate facial wrinkles.  A slightly different product, Restylane® Refyne was designed as a “lighter” product used for filling shallower facial wrinkles. Natural Results that ‘refyne” to help soften laugh lines (nasolabial folds and marionette lines). This can help you restore a more natural look to your face while maintaining your facial expressions.
As skin loses elasticity with age, the lines that run from the sides of your nose toward the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds) and the lines that run from the corner of your mouth toward the chin (marionette lines) appear more noticeable. Restylane® Refyne is a specifically formulated hyaluronic acid dermal filler made with XpresHAn Technology that helps correct these lines for a more natural look to your face. The unique cross-linking of the gel in Restylane® Refyne is also designed to help support your natural expression—for real-life results that help maintain natural movement when you’re smiling, frowning and even puckering up.

Restylane Defyne

Restylane® Defyne is a smooth gel that provides good support of deeper wrinkles.   In clinical studies it was shown to be quite comfortable during injection as numbing medication called lidocaine is mixed into the filler itself. Because of how the hyaluronic acid strands within Restylane® Defyne are bonded together, the gel is smooth and integrates well into the area of injection.
“Restylane® , when combined in the same treatment session as a wrinkle-relaxer like Botox® Cosmetic or Dyspor® t, help to revitalize your skin’s appearance by sculpting the face,” says Dr. Adelglass. “To achieve maximum results, an at-home skin care regimen is also recommended to protect your skin from the natural effects of aging.”

Performed at either our Uptown Dallas or Plano offices, the wrinkle-filling and lip-plumping procedures take only about 30 minutes, and the results are immediate with minimal discomfort. Restylane® can be combined with Botox wrinkle treatment to revitalize your appearance by sculpting the face, for a ‘Botox-Filler’ Facelift, or Dysport® (similar to Botox® ), for a ‘Dysport-Filler Facelift’.

As with any other hyaluronic acid gel that is injected into the lips, the most common side effect is temporary swelling.
