Do you live in the greater Dallas / Fort Worth area and want to restore your skin’s volume and fullness? Juvederm is a ‘next generation’ family of smooth, long-lasting gel dermal fillers, and an advance in hyaluronic acid cosmetic filler technology. Over recent years, hyaluronic acid, a complex sugar already found naturally in the body, has become a favored compound for replenishing the areas of the face where the skin’s volume and fullness has been lost.
Allergan, the company that produces BOTOX Cosmetic, has expanded their family of dermal products to include new FDA-approved Juvederm XC with Lidocaine. In clinical studies, over 90% of subjects reported less treatment pain when they were injected with the new XC formulation. Both our Uptown Dallas and Plano locations offer Juvederm.
Why Add Lidocaine?
Many people who might consider having cosmetic injectable treatments are paralyzed by the thought of possible injection discomfort. While some eventually overcome their fears and find out that the treatments are not as uncomfortable as they imagined, many people never experience the beauty that could be theirs. Dr. Adelglass has been adding Lidocaine in our Dallas and Plano offices to his dermal fillers to make treatments more comfortable for his injection-sensitive patients for years. As a sensitive patient himself, he can relate to what these patients go through when they enter his office. Read more about why Skintastic uses Lidocaine.
In the body, hyaluronic acid fills the space between collagen and elastin fibers of the skin. It is present in all living cells; attracting and binding water, hydrating and giving the skin smoothness and volume. However, as the body ages, the ability of the body’s cells to manufacture its own hyaluronic acid is diminished, resulting in the loss of skin volume, producing folds and wrinkles.
Juvederm is biosynthetic and of non-animal origin. Since it is not created from an animal source, there is little chance of allergic reaction. The formula is highly biocompatible, and no skin testing is required prior to administration. It has been proven to be safe and effective for skin of all types and colors.
The main difference between Juvederm and other popular hyaluronic acid fillers is that Juvederm has the highest concentration of hyaluronic acid, and is produced with a special formulation process that makes it smoother than other popular gels. These gels utilize a suspension process, with particles that can be visibly seen, while Juvederm is completely transparent.
The combination of the higher concentration of hyaluronic acid and the smoother formulation make Juvederm long-lasting (up to one year), easy to fill with, and produces natural, even filling effects. As with other hyaluronic acid fillers, Juvederm is gradually absorbed naturally into the body.
Juvederm’s solutions to facial wrinkles and folds are its different formulations:
Juvederm comes packed in a sterile syringe, ready to be administered. The areas to be injected are numbed with a topical anesthetic cream prior to treatment, for injection comfort. Juvederm is manufactured by Allergan, the makers of BOTOX Cosmetic and Prevage MD Anti-Aging treatment.
Dr. Adelglass can inject Juvederm or another cosmetic dermal filler alongside a BOTOX Cosmetic treatment for a “BOTOX-Filler-Facelift” in either our Uptown Dallas or Plano, TX locations.
